Terms and Conditions for Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program

Information on how to enter the Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program follow these Terms & Conditions. Any entry not complying with these Terms and Conditions is invalid. Please make sure before submitting your application that you agree to these terms for yourself and on behalf of your company/institution. All project details captured in this application will be kept strictly confidential.

 

THE SAMPLIX Xdrop™ GRANT PROGRAM

The Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program begins June 30th 2020 at 3:00 PM CET (Central European Time) and ends August 2nd at 11:00 PM CET and is sponsored by Samplix (“Sponsor”). The total grant of 15.000€ (or its local currency equivalent) will be awarded to three (3) persons (5.000€ (or its local currency equivalent) per grant) for a “Samplix Xdrop™ Enrichment and Sequencing Services” pilot project.

 

ELIGIBILITY

The Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program is open for researchers who meet the following criteria: Must be over 18 years of age and engaged in Life Science Research. Employees, immediate family members and members of the same household (whether related or not), independent contractors of Sponsor, and any persons for whom it would be illegal to participate in or win the Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program are not eligible to participate. Each participant is responsible to confirm its submission and participation is permitted by the rules of its university or organization.

 

HOW TO ENTER

The Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program begins June 30th, 2020 at 4:00 PM CET (Central European Time) and ends August 2nd at 11:00 PM CET. Participants must submit an online application via www.samplix.com/grant to enter the Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program. The application shall be a written abstract in English of 750 words maximum prepared in pdf or docx format. By entering, the participant gives permission to the Sponsor to contact the participant regarding the Sponsors’ products and services, whether or not the participant is chosen as the winner.

 

SELECTION OF WINNER AND NOTIFICATION

Three (3) winners will be selected by a panel of Sponsors’ scientists, who will choose the grant application winners that best fulfill the following criteria:

  • The project encompasses the full Xdrop™ Enrichment and Sequencing workflow i.e. from target enrichment to sequencing on long or short read platform.
  • Participant will provide an overview with a clear aim of the project, as well as a description of the region of interest and associated challenges.
  • The project focuses on 2 samples and one region of interest.
  • Participant will submit samples to Samplix Services at latest September 30th, 2020 meeting our Sample Submission Guidelines

The selected winners will be attempted to be notified by e-mail August 10th, 2020 and if the selected winner has not responded to e-mail inquiries within three (3) days, the Sponsor will attempt to contact the winner by phone. If the winner cannot be reached by phone with forty-eight (48) hours of first phone attempt to notify such winner, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected at the Sponsors’ discretion. The winners will supply a personal photo within twenty-four (24) hours after receipt and acceptance of the Xdrop™ Grant Program award. The chances of winning are dependent on the number of applicants.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNER

The winners will be announced in the week of August 17th, 2020 or earlier if possible. The winners names organizations, photo and title of the winning application will be published on samplix.com as well as through Samplix’ Social Media platforms and in E-mails to other Xdrop™ Grant Program recipients.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU ARE A WINNER

  • The winners agree to support reasonable promotional activities at Sponsors request until Dec 31st, 2021 based on mutual agreed schedule. This could include but not limited to Webinar presentations, website and/or Newsletter stories, interviews, blog posts etc. which may include photo or video shooting. Sponsor is solely responsible for any direct costs associated with these marketing activities.
  • The winners accepts on behalf of the winner and the winner’s institution or company, Sponsors right to at any time and from time to time at the Sponsors discretion to print, publish, broadcast and use worldwide and in any media the winner’s name, biographical data, photo, the name of the winner’s institution or organization, and the project title (excluding further project details).
  • The winners agree to acknowledge Sponsor in scientific publication(s) including but not limited to oral presentations when presenting data from the Xdrop™ Enrichment & Sequencing Grant Program project.
  • The winner will submit samples to Samplix Xdrop™ and Sequencing Services meeting our Sample Submission Guidelines before September 30th, 2020. The Service project will be subject to General Conditions for Sales and Supply of Services from Samplix ApS March 2020.
  • The Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program awards are non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash. The grant cannot be exchanged for another product.
  • The winners are solely responsible for any taxes, duties or similar charges payable on the grants.
  • If the winners have not submitted samples by September 30th, 2020 prize may be forfeited.

INDEMNITY, DISCLAIMER & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By participating in the Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program, the participant agrees on behalf of the participant and the participant’s institution or company to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from all liability for any injury, loss or damage, including death or property damage, due in whole or part, directly or indirectly, to the participation in the Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize. The Sponsor has not made any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to the prize, including, without limitation, to such prize’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose. THE SPONSOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, LATE, STOLEN, INCOMPLETE, ILLEGIBLE, INACCURATE, UNDELIVERED, DELAYED OR MISDIRECTED ENTRIES, OR FOR ANY COMPUTER, THE INTERNET, EMAIL, TELEPHONE OR TECHNICAL MALFUNCTIONS OR DELAYS, OR FOR ANY HUMAN ERRORS THAT OCCUR IN THE PROCESSING, TRANSMISSION OR RECEIPT OF ENTRIES, OR FOR INACCURATE TRANSCRIPTION OF ENTRY INFORMATION, OR IF THE SAMPLIX XDROP™ GRANT PROGRAM IS NOT CAPABLE OF BEING CONDUCTED AS PLANNED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO INFECTION BY COMPUTER VIRUSES, BUGS, TAMPERING, UNAUTHORIZED INTERVENTION, FRAUD, TECHNICAL FAILURES, OR OTHER CAUSES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE SPONSOR. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE SPONSOR OR THEIR RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS OR REPRESENTATIVES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH PARTICIPATION IN THE SAMPLIX XDROP™ GRANT PROGRAM OR THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT ANY OF THEM ARE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE SPONSORS’ TOTAL AND CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SAMPLIX XDROP™ GRANT PROGRAM SHALL IN NO EVENT EXCEED THE TOTAL VALUE OF THE PRIZE.

 

MISCELLANEOUS

The Sponsor reserves the right to suspend, modify, cancel or terminate the Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program without advance notice, including, without limitation, in the event of any act, occurrence or reason that it believes would compromise the legality, integrity, administration or fairness of the Samplix Xdrop™ Grant Program. If one or more provisions of these official rules are held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall be valid and enforceable. These official rules are governed by and shall be construed by the laws of the State of Denmark, without application of its choice of law principles. Should there be a conflict between the laws of the State of Denmark and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of the State of Denmark. Any dispute that may arise hereunder shall be brought solely in the State of Denmark and participant consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue thereof. The failure of the Sponsors to comply with any provision of these official rules due to civil unrest, threat of or actual acts of terrorism or war, embargoes, governmental actions, acts of God, earthquakes, floods, storms, fires, supplier delay, accidents, explosions, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, or other such contingencies beyond the control of the Sponsor, shall not be considered a breach of these rules.
