Join our international, interdisciplinary, dynamic team working on solutions to help researchers reach their goals in genomics and molecular biology.
Samplix ApS supports the life sciences and medical research communities with proprietary microfluidics-based solutions designed to capture the fundamental building blocks of life.
We're currently hiring a software or bioinformatics scientist. The details of the position and the application process are below.
We’re looking for a candidate with a master’s and/or PhD in computational biology, software engineering, physics, biotechnology, cell biology, or similar. You should have a strong interest in the development of graphical user interfaces and software applications for handling large analysis and sorting data sets.
Become a part of an international, interdisciplinary, dynamic team that stands ready to help academic, corporate, and hospital researchers reach their goals in areas as diverse as cell therapy, immunology, drug development, and enzyme screening. Samplix was recently awarded an EIC Accelerator grant of 2.5 M EUR to develop a multicolor sorter for microfluidics droplets containing biological samples (e.g., single cells or DNA fragments). This open position is central to this project.
The work involves developing the graphical user interface, high-dimensionality data visualization and reduction, and data interpretation for this new instrument. We have strong indications that this instrument will pave the way for more efficient single-cell resolution functional analyses than currently available.
This position is for a software scientist or bioinformatics scientist with a strong understanding of management of large data sets and experience with coding. The detection principle in the instrument will be based on changes in fluorescence signals. We will include multiple fluorescence channels for each sample and run multiple samples in parallel. We aim to deliver an easy-to-use platform, so it is essential that the solution is intuitive.
The main tasks for this position are to develop software for dimensionality reduction of fluorescence data, develop the graphical user interface for visualizing this with our external partner, and to develop a software solution for working with these data post processing. Other R&D projects may also be part of the job.
You will join a growing team of 15 dedicated and highly skilled individuals: engineers, molecular and cell biologists, and technicians. You will take on the development of a good strategy for data management and spearhead the building of graphical user interfaces. This will include coordinating the activities of our external software developers and collaborating with our product manager. Furthermore, you will be expected to study scientific papers to get new ideas and discuss your ideas, problems, and projects with our team of innovative engineers, molecular biologists, and cell biologists.
The workplace is our headquarters in Birkerød, Denmark.
We offer a great job with development opportunities in a highly motivating, professional, multidisciplinary, inclusive, and friendly environment. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a small team that is spearheading the development of ground-breaking applications in a forward-thinking area of medicine.
The job will be challenging and rewarding at the same time. You will be part of an international team of world-class colleagues, enjoy flexible working hours, have 6 weeks of holiday, and a salary corresponding to your qualifications.
The application deadline is October 15, 2023. Please send the application along with your resume through the Jobindex Quickapply application system. Applications will be considered as they are submitted. Your application will be treated in accordance with our policies for processing of personal data incorporating the General Data Protection Regulation of the EU.
