Sales Development Manager (Nordics) for our unique single-cell format technology

We’re looking for a Sales Development Manager (Nordics) to help bring novel, advanced products for single-cell analysis to the market

The position

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Sales Development Manager with experience in selling technical equipment and consumables to research institutions as well as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The intended main responsibility is for the Nordic countries, but you will also provide support in other territories initially.

Functional analysis is instrumental in cell therapy and cell line development. However, the current tools applied for this essential work are inadequate because they cannot provide the needed high-resolution cell analysis. Samplix has developed a fast, affordable, and easy-to-use single-cell technology: our two instruments, Xdrop and Xdrop Sort; a family of single-use microfluidic cartridges; unique, proprietary reagents; and software tools for various applications. Our goal is to help democratize true single-cell format technology, making it accessible to every laboratory.

Our customers aspire to overcome challenges in the life sciences and medicine, and they come from the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology industry, universities, and hospitals.

For this position, you’ll need strong technical knowledge in cell biology, immunology, and mammalian biology in general. You’ll need to collaborate with our established, dynamic team of talented professionals to grow Xdrop sales in your region. This will require strong business acumen and the ability to build a territory strategic sales plan to deliver on commercial targets.

This position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and the workplace is our headquarters in Birkerød, Denmark.

Main responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationship with key decision makers and other customers through technical consultation on products and understanding of customer business needs
  • Building and executing a territory business plan (in alignment with the Field Application Scientists, Product Manager, and marketing team) to meet or exceed commercial targets for your region
  • Actively demonstrating strong prospecting and closing skills
  • Committing to accurate and timely sales process management, including sales forecasting and pipeline management through the CRM system (Salesforce) and other relevant IT tools
  • Conducting technical sales presentations for customers and key opinion makers as well as at workshops or seminars (primarily in your region)
  • Working actively with the marketing, product management, and R&D teams to ensure feedback from the market is disseminated through the company

Ideal background and character

  • Minimum 2 years of consultative sales experience in the life sciences and cell biology market, with knowledge of immunology being an advantage
  • A Master’s degree or PhD
  • A history of working with key thought leaders in cell biology
  • A background in selling equipment for flow cytometry and cell sorting
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • The ability to work independently as well as to collaborate with colleagues and external partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of your working time

New: R&D opportunity for engineering student

We have an excellent opportunity for an engineering student looking for R&D experience. The position involves working alongside our internal and external engineers on our new Xdrop Sort instrument, which is designed for preparing single cells and DNA for downstream analyses. This proprietary instrument contains advanced lasers, optics, electronics, and pressure systems that together control the microfluidics-based droplet production and sorting.

You will be reporting to our Head of Engineering and your workplace will be at our headquarters in Birkerød, Denmark.

Main responsibilities (all in close collaboration with our engineering team)

  • Testing optical systems and system control
  • Testing pressure systems
  • Analyzing data generated by the instrument FGPA computer
  • Optimizing instrument performance based on the recorded data
  • Processing single-cell and DNA samples on the instrument

Ideal applicant

  • Studying engineering at the undergraduate or post-graduate level
  • Willing to work 12 to 15 hours per week, starting as soon as possible
  • Able to fit those hours within the Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. work week
